Beyond Primitive
This gallery is a scary example of what can happen when a photographer studies photography at an art school.
I take the scans of some of my Photoglyphs and manipulate them on the computer
using a digital graphics pad along with image-editing software. I can change specific colors and textures.
I can eliminate sections of the image entirely. I can, and often do, turn the entire Photoglyph
into virtual wet paint and just "go at it" with virtual artist’s tools. My objective is to create a two-dimensional piece
which is reminiscent of a three-dimensional antiquity displayed in a museum case. I take the ancient art out of context
but preserve the original message which is central to the image.
